Meeting of national authorities on online piracy
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) hosted a meeting of national authorities in June 2026 to strengthen cooperation against online piracy across EU member states. Representatives from intellectual property offices, law enforcement agencies, regulators, and government bodies discussed current piracy trends, enforcement challenges, and best practices for protecting copyrighted content online. Topics included illegal IPTV services, streaming piracy, website blocking measures, cross border investigations, and the growing use of digital tools to detect and disrupt infringement. Participants also exchanged information on recent enforcement actions and explored ways to improve coordination among national authorities. The meeting forms part of the EU’s broader effort to reduce online copyright infringement and strengthen protection for creators, broadcasters, and rights holders in the digital environment.
